These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you") and OccultSanctum ("we," "us," "our"), operated from Perth, Western Australia, Australia. By downloading, installing, or using the Navashi application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree with any part, you must not use the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Navashi is a free, multi-tradition spiritual calendar. It provides:
Navashi supports several traditions (including Vedic, Islamic, and Hebrew calendars). Where a tradition offers configurable conventions — for example the madhab or prayer-calculation method for Islamic prayer times, or the observance and zmanim opinion for the Hebrew calendar — you are responsible for selecting the convention followed in your community.
All content in the App — calendar timings, festival information, muhurats, prayer times, zmanim, readings, and any other output, whether produced by human authors or algorithmic computation — is provided strictly for informational, educational, and personal-practice purposes.
You expressly acknowledge and agree that:
By using the App, you voluntarily assume all risk associated with engaging with spiritual, cultural, and computed calendar content. You acknowledge that you use the App of your own free will, that you are solely responsible for any action or decision you take based on or influenced by its content, and that you waive any claim against OccultSanctum for any loss, damage, or adverse outcome — direct or indirect — arising from your use of the App or reliance on its content, including any missed or mistimed observance.
We work to make the App's astronomical calculations accurate, but we do not warrant that any timing, festival date, prayer time, or other output is correct, complete, or suitable for your specific observance. Location data, timezone handling, calculation conventions, and calendar rules can all affect results. You are responsible for verifying anything important with an authoritative local source.
Navashi is provided free of charge. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no in-app currency. We will not ask you for payment information within the App.
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. Users aged 13–17 should use the App with parental involvement. Much of the App can be used without an account; where an account is needed, it is created through Google OAuth or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it, and for notifying us at occultsanctum@gmail.com of any unauthorised access.
All content in the App — including calendar data presentations, festival and muhurat descriptions, readings, articles, artwork, graphics, and text — is owned by or licensed to OccultSanctum and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may use App content for your own personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, modify, create derivative works from, scrape, or systematically collect App content, or remove any proprietary notices, without our prior written consent.
You retain ownership of the content you create in the App — moon-journal entries, meditation logs, fasting/observance records, and ancestor remembrances. By using the sync feature (available when signed in), you grant OccultSanctum a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process that content solely to provide the App to you (syncing it across your devices and returning it to you). We do not publish it, share it, or use it for any other purpose. You are responsible for the content you enter and must not enter anything unlawful or infringing. Any feedback or suggestions you send us may be used without obligation or compensation to you.
You agree not to use the App to violate any law; to impersonate any person; to gain unauthorised access to the App or its backend; to use bots, scrapers, or automated tools against the App; to interfere with the App's infrastructure or other users; or to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
We do not guarantee the App will be available at all times. It may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We may modify, update, or discontinue any feature or content at any time, and will not be liable to you for doing so.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OccultSanctum shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App or reliance on its content. Because the App is provided free of charge, to the maximum extent permitted by law our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from the App shall not exceed one hundred Australian dollars (AUD $100).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) and any mandatory consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OccultSanctum and its owner, operators, developers, affiliates, and service providers from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
The App integrates with Google OAuth and Sign in with Apple (authentication), Render (hosting), Google Maps / Places and OpenStreetMap / Nominatim (geocoding of place searches), and Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications). OccultSanctum is not responsible for the availability or actions of third-party services, each of which operates under its own terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the App is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia. For users in other jurisdictions, mandatory local consumer-protection laws may also apply and are not excluded by these Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, it shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and OccultSanctum regarding your use of the App.
